Large Arçon Flintlock Pistol Said In La Miquelet 18th Century Weapon

Exceptional in its quality and state of conservation. This Spanish pommel pistol with plate called miquelet from the first part of the 18th century was built at the time from noble materials, steel and wrought iron for the mechanical parts, brass for the protective parts and mounted in quality walnut.
Descriptions: the stock is decorated with small moldings ending in stylized foliage patterns. The smooth barrel is worked with five sides (signature on the top between two beautiful moldings see photos) then rounded towards the mouth and decorated along the length with three hollow motifs. the Dog and the Bassinet are pleasantly sculpted with scrolls and finely engraved with lines of floral motifs. the Platinum is decorated in inlay with a small brass medallion bearing crowned initials (see photos). on the other side is the wrought iron belt hook. the Trim, the Trigger Guard, the Cap and the Rings are entirely in brass and finely carved with arabesques, on the cap which ends the end of the stock also a superb decoration which ends at the bottom with a grotesque face of a man with mouth wide open. To complete this beautiful set, a rosewood stick accompanied by a horn button.
