Charles Balaine - Lined Metal Dish Warmer flag

Object description :

"Charles Balaine - Lined Metal Dish Warmer"
Charles Balaine lined metal dish warmer.
Doubled metal is the 19th century name for silver metal.
A difference separates them, the doubled metal corresponds to silvering on copper, while the silvered metal is on brass or white metal.
This dish warmer is in 2 parts, the body resting on three ball feet and its lid.
Decorated with acanthus leaves on the two handles.
We note very slight small shocks on the top.
The body is perforated at the level of the handles and on the bottom, allowing ventilation and a supply of oxygen for the candle.
Note very light scratches from use.
French work from the beginning of the 19th century, made by the goldsmith Charles Balaine, master goldsmith between 1827 and 1844 in Paris.
