"Embossed Copper Plate Signed V.zier (victor Casimir Zier, Born In 1822)"
Very beautiful embossed copper plaque representing a bucolic scene, a young man teaching a shepherdess to play the flute, in a green setting near a fountain called the "fountain of truth", topped with a lion attached to a chain and where a sheep comes to quench its thirst.
Signed lower left in a small medallion: V.Zier, for Victor Casimir Zier born in 1822 in Poland and active in Paris throughout the century, best known for his painted work. We do not know the date of his death.
The plaque is in good condition, measuring approximately 13.2 cm by 8 cm.
