"Walnut Desk, Kidney Shape, Chippendale Taste – 1930/1940"
Charming piece of furniture from the 1930s in walnut veneer with bright and nuanced veining. It is a full-faced desk, with a wide strip, opening with three drawers with a vertical walnut veneer front, decorated with falling chiseled bronze pull handles forming pretty pompoms attached to rosettes. On the front of these very deep drawers, the walnut veneer is placed on solid mahogany. These drawers are assembled with dovetails. This desk has a belt characterized by its falling grain walnut veneer. It rests on four Chippendale-style stained solid beech legs. Each leg includes a curved upper part and simplified lion paws. Finally, the top is made up of a four-leaf with a cross-grain band around its edge. A solid walnut backsplash completes the rear section. This atypical desk will charm you with its refinement, its beautiful quality and its small size. Its rounded shapes and beautiful proportions will make this piece of furniture an asset to your interior. ******** Period: 1930 / 1940 Perfect condition after restoration in our workshop.
