Edmond Borchard is a painter known for his hunting subjects. He exhibited at the Salon from 1875 to 1912. At the Salon of 1907, he exhibited a poster representing the city of Albi. Our painting is located temporally over this period. This is undoubtedly a tourist poster project on Mont-Blanc. Observe this superb sky, this impressive play of ice masses, the amusing line of people venturing onto the mountain (including women in dresses) and this detail of the scale.
