Lucien-Victor Guirand de Scévola studied with Fernand Cormon at the Beaux-Arts in Paris. His marriage to actress Marie-Thérèse Pierrat reflects his involvement in Parisian artistic life, frequenting the Cabaret des Quat'z'Arts and participating in theater set design projects.
A regular exhibitor at the Salon de la Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts, he also took part in the Salon des Indépendants and the Salon d'Automne in 1906 and 1906.
His career was full of success, excelling in the art of pastel portraiture, with interesting Symbolist portraits and important commissions, often revealing the influence of medieval imagery.
