An oil on canvas measuring 73X60 cm (unframed) representing two friends in a hammam signed lower center by Ladislas Medgyes (1892-?). a work from the 1930s close to the work of Jean Hélion (1904-1987)

Medgyesi László born in 1892 in Budapest is a Hungarian artist. He arrived in Paris in 1918. In 1921 he lived at 26 rue du Faubourg Saint Jacques (75014 Paris). He regularly exhibited his paintings at the Salon des Indépendants from 1921 to 1931. His works can be seen at the Povolozkyban Gallery and the Vogel Gallery. Painter of the Paris school, he is also a theater decorator. In America in 1927 he exhibited paintings but also crystal sculptures. We lost track of him during the Second World War. Not knowing where and when he died! His works can be admired at the National Gallery in Budapest.
