"Painting By Herminie Waternau (1854-1913) “the Music Lesson”"
Magnificent painting representing a teacher giving a music lesson to an elegant woman in the 18th century in a richly decorated interior, signed lower left H, WATERNAU, on its original canvas with a very beautiful Louis XV living room frame in gold-plated stucco with gold leaf. His career truly began at the salon of 1878 and in 1881 he became a drawing teacher in Paris. student of Delphine de COOL, in 1888 she was in the workshop of Tony ROBERT FLEURY, JULES LEFEBVRE AND GUSTAVE BOULANGER. Exhibits many of his works at the salon of the Union of Women Painters and Sculptors at the end of the 1880s. Views of Paris were acquired by the CARNAVALET museum CIRCA 1907.
