Object description :

"Robj (jean Born, Said). Pair Of Orientalist Ceramic Bookends, Art Deco Period."
ROBJ PARIS
factory founded by Jean Born in 1908,
then managed by Lucien Willemetz.

Beautiful and interesting pair of ceramic bookends (20 cm) with an anthropomorphic theme, representing, symmetrically, two Oriental characters — “wise men”? — in green-turquoise and cracked golden enamels. Art Deco period, circa 1925-30.

ROBJ Manufacture, Paris.

Each bookend is signed under the base, with the brand "Robj Paris" stamped intaglio, accompanied by a small cartridge indicating the following: "Made in France". Very beautiful and extremely rare objects, forming a pair, and perfectly preserved (all additional details below).

* * * DIMENSIONS:
- height of a bookend, 20.00 CM;
- total length of a bookend, 12.50 CM ;
- width, 07.60 CM. .

* * * CONDITION REPORT: Excellent condition for both bookends, really. The colors and gold are perfectly vivid; the whole thing is superb. Very slight original enameling defects, including, for example, a very slight lack of enamel on one of the bookends (photo n°6). Finally, I note a tiny break in enamel on the other bookend, on the reverse of the base (very barely visible; you can see it by turning the bookend over (photo n°7), as well as on the back , a little, of the bookend (photo n°8, 9). In any case, the impact of this small defect is really minimal, almost zero. The two bookends therefore remain well, and in the whole, in an excellent state of conservation, really.

* * * Shipping possible worldwide with Colissimo (also possible, and on request, to choose UPS, MondialRelay, etc.). Very protective and secure packaging, produced on -measurement for each object, with first-hand professional equipment. PAYPAL PAYMENTS ACCEPTED.
