Pair Of Bronze Fireplace Fronts Mounted As Lamps

Pair of Louis XVI style bronze fireplace fronts, from the Napoleon III period, mounted as lamps, decorated with a lion's muzzle holding garlands of falling laurel twists in its mouth; topped with a baluster vase with falling plant handles and cushioning forming a flame supporting the lampshade.
The round lampshades are covered with a vintage toile de jouy ''plaisirs d'indochina'' by Brunschwig et fils, ecru background with black-grey decorations enhanced with white.
Modern electrification, the gold wire passes through the body; E27 screw bulb. Cleaned & varnished.
