An large, elegant and decorative pair of Louis XVI-style sconces in finely chiseled bronze and magnificent original gilding. They are lit by five arms of light, each of which is decorated with a beautiful Lion's Mule motif. The finely fluted shafts are adorned with garlands of laurel leaves and embellished with acanthus leaves, surmounted by an antique-style fire pot and terminating in foliate bases.
In the center, a lion's head holding a ring in its mouth conceals the junction of the five light arms.
The arms, nervously scrolled, feature acanthus scrolls on their inner sides and decreasing flower falls on their outer sides.
They support cups decorated with rosettes and palmettes, and candleholders in the shape of Medici vases with the same decorative motif.
Beautiful French work in the Louis XVI style, manufactured in the early 19th century.
Sizes: Height 19.29 In. - Wide 17.32 In. - Deep 10.62 In.
Our sconces feature several bronze-maker's marks on the cups and buckets. They are in very good condition, electrified to European standards, and can be upgraded to American standards on request.
