Glass Cup - Early 19th Century

Cylindrical CUP in colorless glass with a cut-fluted base, finely engraved with an allegory of fidelity depicting a dog attached to an altar of Love and a dedicatory patronymic mention in a vegetable cartouche: WH HADFIELD / 1820.
Height: 8.5cm. Diameter: 7.5 cm.
ENGLAND (?), Early 19th century

Perfect condition
The name Hadfield comes from the Old English meaning “flat field”. This name is very common in the north-west of England, which of course is not sufficient to confirm this provenance.
