"18th Century Neoclassical Clock With A Chariot"
Refined Neoclassical clock made of gilded bronze, with a marble base. The body of the clock consists of a graceful classical depiction, consisting of a gilded bronze chariot with a swan's head. Inside the chariot sits a draped girl playing with a dog. The base of the clock is trapezoidal in shape and is made of marble. On the sides and front of the base there are gilded bronze appliques that recall classically inspired motifs. The feet of the clock are knob-shaped, also in gilded bronze, giving stability and a touch of elegance. The clock is a pendulum with weekly winding and has an hour and half hour chime function. The attention to detail, the mastery in the processing of materials and the classical inspiration give the object refinement and an aura of ancient beauty. The clock is made by French manufacturing of the Neoclassical period, dating back to the 18th century. Furthermore, the clock is paired with two candlesticks, thus creating a harmonious and complete composition.
