"Nymph Of Diana, Bronze Group By Eugène Aizelin"
Mythologically inspired statue representing a seductive nymph of Diana in the company of her greyhound drinking from a watering hole. Titled on its base, this elegant bronze group is in perfect condition and has retained its original patina. Period edition from the end of the 19th century bearing the Aizelin signature, the Collas reduction stamp and the founder Ferdinand Barbedienne Paris. Born in Paris in 1821 Eugène Antoine Aizelin entered the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in 1844 with the sculptors Ramey and Dumont as training masters. Often inspired by biblical or mythological subjects, his talent allowed him to exhibit at the Salon from 1852 to 1897. He received numerous distinctions including a gold medal during his participation in the Universal Exhibitions.
