"Diane Au Bain In Bronze After Falconet"
Very beautiful finely chiseled bronze sculpture with medal patina representing a Nymph going down to the bath after the famous marble by Etienne-Maurice Falconet, presented at the Salon of 1757. From this model inspired by a painting by François Lemoyne emerges all the grace and discreet sensuality specific to Antiquity. Leaning on a tree trunk, the young naked woman holds a drape in her hands. This charming statue of a bather rests on a circular molded black marble base. Work attributed to the French School of the 19th century. The original Falconet marble has been exhibited at the Louvre since 1855. The founder is Alfred Paupardin who struck his signature inside the bronze as shown in the last photo. The bronze and marble are in perfect condition! Beautiful patina! Height: 48cm
