"Humorous Oil On Canvas Early 19th Century “adultery”"
Interesting humorous painting at the beginning of the 19th century around 1820/30 representing adultery treated in a satirical manner... the couple surprised by a gendarme holding the man by the collar... she crying her eyes out... in the foreground a sickle for representing summer... in the background on the left hanging from a thread a rat... (are they made like rats?...) all painted as in a prism or a keyhole to amplify the gaze of the painter on the main subject. Trace of signature lower right, original canvas, frame with gilded wood bowl, perfect condition. a curious and very nice painting! possibility of sending by specialized courier or colissimo.
