“The port of Villefranche sur Mer

Oil on cardboard,
Signed lower right,
Located on the back by the artist,

Beautiful finely crafted work by the Marseille painter Alexandre Isailoff which represents a view from a corner from the port of Villefranche sur Mer, certainly towards the citadel.
The artist was able to perfectly transcribe the architecture of the fortifications and play on the contrasts of the light of a summer day.

Born in Constantinople, he studied with Régnier at the National School of Fine Arts in Marseille, then with Jean-Baptiste OLIVE. At the end, he turned to a career as a painter and draftsman. He completed his preparation with a trip to the Orient from where he returned to France and settled in Paris.
He exhibits in various Salons including that of the Champs-Elysées.
His production is dedicated to representing, with warm colors, landscapes of Provence and Italy.

Dimensions: 33.5 x 41 cm without frame and 38.5 x 46.5 cm with its original wooden frame.
