"A.itasse (paris 1830-1893) Spectacular Bronze "love Conquers""
Important 19th century bronze sculpture with bronze patina bearing the signature A. ITASSE - PARIS (Itasse Adolphe 1830-1893) rare listed model "L'Amour Vainqueur" presented here in its largest version measuring approximately 90 cm high 50 cm wide X 50 cm deep. Elegant romantic composition featuring a smiling young Cupid holding an arrow and drawing another from his quiver. Sea green marble base. Good general condition. Note an identical model (bronze as large but offered without the marble base) sold on September 30, 2015 by the famous international auction company CHRISTIE'S sold excluding fees for 5,000 GBP or 5,850 euros -see attached document- Adophe Itasse (1830-1893) began his career at the Salon of 1864, he won an award in 1875 and in 1889 at the Universal Exhibition. Official sculptor, he received numerous public commissions for the Louvre Museum, the Opera and the Trocadéro Palace.
