Gilbert Pajot is surely one of the most exciting and intriguing unofficial naval painters of the 20th century. Taking up the iconoclastic and naive style of his father Paul-Émile, a Vendée fisherman who became a painter. Gilbert Pajot made his career producing boat and port portraits as well as fishing scenes. This unique and recognizable style among many others is marked by the influence of Japanese iconography which spread in Europe at the end of the 19th century. His work, like that of his father, constitutes one of the most beautiful bodies of naive maritime art. This magnificent gouache represents
