"Jamain Hunting Rifle, Liège"
A beautiful black powder rifle juxtaposed with a damascus barrel manufactured by J.Jamain in Liège. The stock is made of Junglans, a type of dark walnut combined with steel applications. The trigger guard, cocks, chamber exterior, and lever are hand-engraved steel with a beautiful tight pattern. The side-by-side barrel is forged from Damascus steel, a slightly incorrect term and often referred to as "watered steel". It consists of a steel core onto which layers of steel have been twisted. Then the barrels were engraved with a fine brown finish. The walnut stock carries a silver-inlaid shield which bears the owner's initials. In this case, always empty.
Mechanism: The shotgun features a pin-firing system that was commonly used in the mid and second half of the 19th century. It consists of two hammers with a half-cocking and full-cocking mechanism that hammer the brass pin attached to the cartridge.
Condition: Very good, some minor wear and pitting to steel and wood. There are some traces of disassembly acquired over time. Original brown engraved body.
