"Tastevin, Nantes 1779, Jacques Jutard, Sterling Silver, Taste-wine "
Very rare Louis XVI period wine taster with heart motifs, with the jurande hallmarks of the Nantes goldsmiths and the master goldsmith hallmark of Jacques Jutard. He was admitted to the master's degree in 1742, practiced his profession until his death in 1780. His widow continued his workshop for three years. Young Jacques had quite the temperament. This is evidenced by the lawsuit brought against him by his master in 1736 for having ended his apprenticeship early in violent conditions. Six years later, a few weeks after his admission to the master's degree, he was already fined three pounds for having insulted the corporation's guarded jurors. The hearts on the tastevin are a rather rare decoration. Weight 102 grams
