Large terracotta bust of the woman with flowers or "Water Lilies" by the French sculptor George Charles Coudray, from the art nouveau period around 1900. This sculpture was created especially for the Universal Exhibition of 1900 and presented by the artist forward -first at the Paris Salon in 1899, it symbolizes nature represented by a woman, her hair covered with flowers and the foot of the bust decorated with large water lilies. Signature, numbering and stamp on the back of the base. A student of Alexandre Falguière at the Paris School of Fine Arts and of Henri Allouard, Georges Charles Coudray exhibited at the Paris Salon between 1882 and 1903. He was recognized by his peers for his busts, sculptures, medals and orientalist works . Very good condition, some wear
