"Miho Hirakawa - Rue Pigalle - Hôtel De Paris - A Flowered Window - 1994"
MIHO HIRAKAWA Originally from Hokkaido, Miho Hirakawa came to France in the 1970s to visit her father. She never left, falling in love with Paris, its walls and painting. Self-taught but was not aware of her talent at first. His first exhibition? “One day in the fall of 1976, my father announced to me that I had won the Special Prize at the Winter Salon held at the Grand Palais. He had borrowed one of my paintings and exhibited it without my knowledge. What was my surprise! Paris has since been his only artistic object and subject: “Paris, for me, is a laboratory of emotions which can be expressed in a thousand ways. It’s a tangible emotion that’s constantly renewed.” The artist roams Paris every day. His oil works are more textured, thicker. Miho Hirakawa wants to inscribe the scent of forgotten holidays, the rhythm of faded footsteps on worn cobblestones, the trace of once loved objects; the weight of a past accomplished by long-gone inhabitants. A Japanese painter in search of lost time... Very good condition 46 x 38 cm 60 x 51 cm with frame Shipping of 25 euros extra for France. Other countries, contact us.
