"Tahan In Paris. Jewelry Box, Box, In Marquetry And Brass Napoleon III Period"
This beautiful jewelry box signed by "Tahan in Paris, supplier to the Emperor" is made of veneer, amboyna burl, rosewood with ebony fillets. The lid is decorated in its center with a floral medallion monogrammed MS The box is decorated with brass threads and brass diamond patterns. These threads are repeated on the eight sides of the box. Note a very small lack of brass thread see photo 10. The interior of the box has been redone with an old fabric from the Napoleon III period.
