In October 1967, he returned to the National School of Decorative Arts in Limoges, where he took drawing lessons from Claude Viallat. May 1968 brought him the conviction that “his paintings will carry messages” and he began to paint according to the principles of Support/surface a series of large format free canvases on the theme Characters/Violence. He denounces “the violence with which our society timelessly struggles”. During his five years of study at ENAD in Limoges, he met Raoul Haussmann and learned about the works of Robert Motherwell, Meret Oppenheim, Gérard Gasiorowski and Ellworth Kelly. In 1972, he graduated. In his painting he strives to “bring together expressionism and a sense of purity”. Passionate about transmission, he cannot live his career as an artist without teaching. In 1976, he was appointed professor at the Beaux-Arts in Caen, where he worked until 1980. He then taught at the School of Fine Arts in Clermont Ferrand from 1980 to 1990 then at that of Besançon until 2013.
