"Large Bronze Raoul Larche Young Girl Art Nouveau "
Large bronze (90cm) with nuanced brown patina representing a young girl 1900 in the purest Art Nouveau style. This bronze is the work of the sculptor François Raoul Larche (1860-1912), the latter after studying at the School of Fine Arts and was a student of Alexandre Falguière, Jean Léon Gérôme, François Jouffroy among others... He won the second prize in Rome and a gold medal at the Universal Exhibition in Paris in 1900. The sculpture presented represents a young girl standing, semi-seated on a rock. The drapery is skin-deep, the hair is loose with a little bun on the top of the head held in place by pins. The posture is proud and elegant! Perhaps inspired by the American dancer Loïe Fuller who served as a model for one of her famous creations. The statue is signed intaglio by the artist on the terrace, a stamp from the founder Siot-Decauville with whom he used to work in Paris is affixed to the rock. The sculpture is presented on a rotating base. This is a fairly rare piece among the artist's works, very decorative in its proportions (height 90cm/diameter 50cm/weight: 40kg).
