Giuseppe Fiumi was born in Faenza in 1892.
A skilled wheel worker and turner, he began his activity at the "Minardi" factory.
In 1915 he was called to arms and at the end of the war he resumed his job.
In 1922 "Minardi" closed and Giuseppe Fiumi, together with his brother Enzo, the Pesaro ceramist Achille Wildi and with the contribution of his financing partner Napoleone Grandi, rented a former barracks in via Croce 6 from the municipality of Faenza where he founded the factory "New Ca' Pirota"
In the same year he met the Faenza ceramist Francesco Nonni who created some works in his kiln.
The following year Achille Wildi left Faenza and shortly after Napoleone Grandi died and the factory remained with the Fiumi brothers.
In the second half of the twenties he collaborated with the Fausto Dal Pozzo company.
In the first half of the 1920s the factory achieved good commercial success by creating works with a classic and traditional flavor and in 1929, thanks to the successes achieved, it also opened a shop in via Marini, but shortly afterwards, due to the spreading economic crisis, the The factory is unable to pay the salaries of its collaborators and even his brother Enzo is forced to abandon the business.
Giuseppe Fiumi, in order to keep the company running, was forced to sell below cost and in 1933 it closed definitively, sold everything to Domenico Emiliani and went to work as a decorator at the Trerè factory in Faenza.
With the closure of Trerè, Fiumi left Faenza and moved to San Marino, first at the "Casali" factory then at the factory of Professor Luigi Masi where he worked until 1951 when, after a brief experience at the "Marmaca" he founded, in 1952, together with some partners, all former employees of "Marmaca", the "Titano" ceramic factory, which he managed until his death in 1965.
