"Altar Cross In Blackened Wood And Tortoise Shells, 18th Century Style"
- Large wooden altar cross veneered with blackened wood and red-tinted tortoise shells. It is decorated with a titulus and other gilded carved wooden elements which add to its elegance; fleurons extending its arms, foliage at its base placed as cushioning to soften the right angles.
This cross surmounts an octagonal base punctuated by alternating ebony moldings and tortoiseshell facets. This base rests on six flattened ball feet, their ovoid shape echoes that of the two stretched vases located a little higher.
- Work from the 19th century imitating Flemish crucifixes from the 18th century.
