The old painting, XIX Century, is signed bottom right Marion Rodger Hamilt Harvey (1855-1913),
English painter born in Ayr. An acclaimed Scottish artist who lived in Glasgow
and exhibited regularly at the Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool.

Harvey painted portraits of dogs and horses and worked in oil, pastel, watercolour and etching.
The work bears an authentic gilt frame coeval with the 20th century painting.
The Old Painting and the frame have been carefully and professionally restored.
