"20th Century Giovanni Panza’s Painting Interior Scene With Musicians"
Giovanni Panza (1894-1989) remained faithful to the romantic-naturalistic tradition in his painting, taking inspiration from the nineteenth-century Neapolitan school in his figurative representation. He specialized in the creation of landscapes, human figures, streets, bucolic scenes and markets, taken from the daily life of the Neapolitan neighborhoods, with particular attention to detail. With his works, the artist intended to evoke places and people, situations and customs that characterized Naples in the past, distinguishing it for its uniqueness. In this painting, an interior scene is depicted, an aristocratic living room with musicians who are also attended by an ecclesiastical figure. The attention paid to the details of the furnishings of the room and the clothes of the figures gives the work a significant artistic value.
