Until the middle of the 20th century, a similar collar to that of the clergy of France in the 18th century was still worn; it is straight, but in two pieces, with a solution of continuity under the chin. Nowadays, the collar without flap, known as the “Roman collar”, is more common in ecclesiastical clothing.
