"Willem Van Hasselt Port Of Bordeaux Stone Bridge Oil On Canvas 1930"
This very beautiful work by Willem Van Hasselt (1882-1963) is a view of Bordeaux and in particular in the background the Pont de Pierre. An animation of boats and fishermen constitutes the charm of the painting with the Garonne in the foreground. Van Hasselt is a famous painter from the Netherlands having stayed in Bordeaux, Arcachon and Paris - with his French wife. His expression is close to that of Albert Marquet. The painting is in good condition (note a repainting) and framed with an American oak stick.
