Richard Durando-Togo (born in 1910 in Buenos Aires) is an Argentine painter of origin who spent most of his life in Italy and France where he settled permanently in 1934. In 1968, Richard Durando-Togo received the Grand International painting prize. He is a self-taught artist with a very personal style, painting light and shadow which are often juxtaposed with blonde and brunette to create an atmosphere of mystery. He was a prolific painter who created oil paintings of gypsy dances and musical scenes, market scenes, portraits of women with hats, nudes, and still life paintings in bright colors. The works of Richard Durando-Togo are in collections in France, Italy, England, the United States, Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands.
