Meissen porcelain elongated court figurine, designed for salt and pepper. Cavalier model on bowl (Kavalier an Schale) created by Johann Joachim Kaendler around 1762 with blue onion decoration. Marked with blue crossed swords and numbered 2872. Paired with the Lady on bowl figurine numbered 2875. Listed in the Meissen - Bergman catalog. The onion decoration is an invention of Meissen, its success was such that it was taken up by many manufacturers in Europe.
