Monumental Art Nouveau vase in baluster shape by master glassmaker Paul Nicolas (1875-1952) from Argental, St Louis glassworks in Nancy. Multi-layered decoration revealed in deep reserves and fine engravings of acorns and oak foliage. Very contrasting and bright colors in shades of blue, green, turquoise, shades of blue, white and shades of green, light to dark, towards the collar and base.
Signature in the decor "d'Argental" SL, for d'Argental Paul Nicolas for the St Louis workshops. D'argental having collaborated with Emile Gallé and the St Louis glassworks before creating his own workshop. Rare vase due due to high dimensions and powerful bright colors.
