Biography
John Irwin Bright (1869 -1940)
Born in Pottsville, Pennsylvania, he graduated from Pottsville High School in 1886. He then attended Princeton University, He also spent a year at the University of Pennsylvania School of Architecture before studying painting and architecture in Paris at the École des Beaux-Arts. There followed six years spent in Paris, pursuing his career as a painter, and more than a year in Tangier, Morocco, before returning to Philadelphia.
