In 1931, with the help of Jacqueline Apollinaire and on the advice of Pierre Matisse, the young Albert Skira (the publisher) then aged twenty-five, convinced Pablo Picasso to illustrate Ovid’s Metamorphoses with 30 etchings.
On the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the publishing house, Skira publishes an anastatic edition of this book. This magnificent work so close to the original will satisfy all Picasso lovers and all collectors of rare books.
