Extremely rare Louis XV era coffee pot in solid silver from Burgundy, raised on three hoof feet with cartouche attachements. Baluster-shaped body with pouring spout with threaded accents. The body is engraved with an important period alliance Coats of Arms flanked by a standing lion and horse, sutmounted by a Count's Crown. Domed lid featues a leaf encased fruit finial. Blackened wooden side handle. Hallmarks located on the body with the Mark Hallmarks (repeated 2 times) and Control Hallmarks for CHALON-Sur-SAONE 1762-68 and the Hallmark of Master Goldsmith Claude-Bénigne OUDOT active in 1757. This magnificent coffee pot from the rare Bureau of Chalon- Sur-Saône is in very good condition, remarkably well hallmarked, and just micro-scratches from use to note.
