In its green shagreen case
Traveller's cutlery with mother-of-pearl ribs ending in winged scroll buttons, centred on oval vermeil medallions, vermeil bolsters with fillet decoration.
There are six hallmarks on the fork, including :
- the doe's head discharge mark, used from 1774 to 1780 in the Metz Control Office under Jean-Baptiste Fouache
- master silversmith's hallmark "JT" centred on a fork
- census mark used between 1798 and 1809 showing the head of liberty: right profile of a young girl wearing the Phrygian bonnet.
