Based on the fables of La Fontaine. The tree stump is used to hold the matches. The deck features a matchstick scraper on the front. Signed J. Moigniez on the left on the terrace. Good condition. Dimensions: 13.7 x 9.5 H: 10.5 cm French animal sculptor. A student of Cornoléra, he made his debut at the Salon of 1855. The Château de Compiègne preserves Pointing Dog with Pheasant (bronze).
