Portrait painter, born in 1852. Eleve Antoigny of Hédin and Detaille, he will bind a strong friendship. Basile Lemeunier was rewarded for his talent at the Paris Salon which he participated from 1888 to 1921 and at the Universal Exhibitions of 1889 and 1900.
Artist known for its many contemporary representations of genre scenes and streets of the Paris of the Belle Epoque. Reputed to be the epintre representing "street children are lovely and elegant and alluring women" opposite the painter Fernand Peel.
The elegant Parisienne is shown dressed in the style of Parisian fashion of 1900. She is dressed in an elegant and sober collared dress and holding an umbrella to amain a small fruit basket.
The painting is made with breathtaking realism both in the representation of this young woman through many details of her hair, her dress, her jewelry and accessories, and in the environment that surrounds it.
