"Pretty Charlotte Tuyautée, Headdress Of Bourgeoise Second Empire France Circa 1860"
Circa 1860-1880 France Beautiful Charlotte piped or bourgeois Second Empire headdress in its original condition. Silk tulle bonnet applied with chain stitch embroidered gauze forming a large floral bouquet. Six drawstrings and double rows of piped lace. Slight yellowing of the headdress but fashion item intact. We can often see this type of headdress in portraits from this period, a rare object with its period piped finish! Moving testimony. No hole. Good condition. Dimensions: Head circumference 54 cm, cup diameter 49 cm, lace 4 cm.
