Adopting the Louis XVI style, these two solid silver candelabras have very light lines. The central flame heats the stretching of long acanthus leaves supporting bobèches and binets. The slightly fluted feet rest on their base discreetly raised with a string of pearls. The weight of this set in perfect condition is 1.6 kg.
The goldsmith house Hénin & Cie was established in 1855 in the Marais district of Paris. Quickly renowned for the quality of its production, particularly known for its pieces in solid silver or gold, it soon found itself one of the most famous French factories, until 1983. Its archives are today preserved at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, attesting to the important place of the Hénin & Cie house in French decorative arts.
