"Paule Danjou : “three Naked Women On The Beach At Dusk”"
Paule Danjou (20th century): “Three women on the beach”, oil on canvas 77 x 90 cm, mounted in a more recent gilded frame 89 x 102 cm. We ultimately have little information about Paule Danjou, other than that she was active in the Pau region where she taught Fine Arts and where she had numerous exhibitions. It is probably Madame Danjou, whom Bénézit tells us exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français in 1945. I have often encountered them during my career in Pau, which allows me to say that this one is relatively old in his work, probably around 1950, his style gradually becoming more angular thereafter, then evolving towards abstraction. These “Three naked women on the beach at dusk”, in a style between Marie Laurencin and Souverbie, are perfectly constructed and balanced. Perfect condition, just needs a little cleaning and varnishing to make the colors sing more. Do not hesitate to ask us for photos or additional information by email or telephone.
