"Surtout Painted Equipped With Eight Arms Of Light"
Very rare surtout painted with eight arms of light. The gilded bronze light arms are removable and each surmounts a mask of a bearded man crowned with laurel leaves. The main part is rectangular in shape composed of curves and recesses. It is topped with a mirror. Its perimeter is painted with garlands of pink flowers, butterflies and a crowned figure inscribed in a cartouche on a light blue background. Above all, it rests on eight astonishing gilded bronze ducks. Second third of the 18th century Usual restorations H. 21 x L. 56.5 x D. 49 cm
