Classified as a Historic Monument in 1840, the church must undergo restoration work on the bell tower and the Municipal Council wants to be able to control the work. A special commission is appointed to support the historic monuments commission. Photographs are thus ordered. Charles MARVILLE (1813-1879) is an architectural photographer and "the photographer of the Louvre Imperial Museum". He collaborated on the major restoration projects of the time and worked with the historical works services as well as with numerous architects including Violet le Duc....
