"Pyrogen Vesta 19th"
What a delicate object from the 19th century. I can see a Dandy taking this lovely little object out of his vest and using it not without pride... It is a pocket pyrogen called vesta in gutta percha, i.e. the ancestor of bakelite. The ivory-colored side is decorated, in relief, with two little cherubs trying to rekindle a fire on the edge of a wood.... This match holder is surprisingly feminine for a male user... hence the Dandy from my description.
