Netsuke – Beautiful unusual shape for a good-sized model, representing a small village scene under pine trees. Made from kurokaki or kokutan wood, which is similar to the persimmon tree. It has a date on the back (1838). Bears the Sei stamp. Height: 6.4 cm. Japan Edo (1603-1868) 19th century.
