These stone pieces served as the base for the structural support posts in the stables,
in the stables or in the barns.
These stone dice had several uses; They prevented the feet of the beams from resting on the ground and rotting on damp soils,
and, being strong, they protected the beams from cart wheels as they passed by.
Many show wear on their corners, proof of their use.
