"Corset In Wool Cloth And Krefeld Ribbons - Germany 19th Century"
Second half of the 19th century Southern Germany Beautiful traditional German costume corset in black woolen cloth. Soft sleeveless bodice and crenellated basques. Imposing breastplate applied with wide velvet ribbons to the saber from a Krefeld factory. Cross buttoning highlighted with green silk piping and complete with 19 superb buttons embroidered with gold thread and green silk. Ecru cotton lining. Stitching entirely done by hand. A beautiful object of ethnography from southern Germany, probably from Bavaria (?). slight dusting of the lining, otherwise no holes or stains. Very good state of color and conservation. Dimensions: Equivalent to France size 35-36. Measured flat: height 49 cm, shoulders 33 cm, chest width 40 cm, waist width 34 cm.
